Dedoose 10 is here and is loaded with new features and enhancements to help make your research more efficient and more enjoyable.
You can now choose from 4 different user interface themes – Dedoose Classic, Dedoose, Dark Mode, and High Contrast - via the App Settings icon in the upper right corner of the app.
The redesigned Codes Workspace gives you maximum visibility of your codebook and code definitions, and added metadata such as code creator, create date, and customizable views. The Codebook view is a great place to create, organize, and manage codes within your project. You can also select the “Excerpt Count” number associated with the code to view all coded data with that specific code applied. The new design in Dedoose 10 also includes enhanced features such as: mass merging of codes, mass deletion of codes, and exporting your codebook with associated metadata, as well as automatic upcoding education and warnings. You can still adjust code settings and preferences via the Code Panel while you are analyzing your data as well. Vertical Navigation The Codes, Media, and Excerpts workspaces now include vertical navigation buttons on the left side of the screen that allow you to quickly access key charts around that element (e.g., codes, media, excerpts) and access Auto-Code and Text Analytics features.
Brand new with Dedoose 10 is the addition of Auto-Coding and Text Analytics to help assist researchers through automation. The Auto-Code Wizard allows you to instruct Dedoose to create and code excerpts around key words or phrases of your choice. Auto-Coding can be a powerful tool to help you explore your data and progress your project, particularly for those with large datasets. The Text Analytics toolset includes two charts: Word Frequency and Word x Descriptor. These charts calculate the top 40 most frequently used words in your dataset and display them to you in bar or pie chart format, as well as by a descriptor field of your choice.
